I have been putting off writing this post because of all the picture, but here they finally are. For Bradlee's 5th birthday, we surprised him with a trip to California. He had NO idea that we were going so that was really fun. On his actual birthday, we went to Sea World. He has been talking about wanting to go there for over six months.

Here is Bradlee in the hotel on the morning of his Birthday. He had just found out that we took a VERY long drive for a good reason.

He loved this ride:

Since Bradlee was wearing a birthday pin, one of the trainers came out and asked us if we wanted to go meet some penguins. We got to go into the actual penguin exhibit and pet one of them. It was 28 degrees in there and we had just gotten off of the water ride, so we were freezing, but it wa the coolest thing we've ever gotten to do.

Josh's parent took us to dine with Shamu for Bradlee's birthday lunch. We got to watch a special shamu show while we ate. So fun!

The dolphin show is amazing! We loved it more than any other show there.

It wouldn't have been a trip to California without a visit to our most favorite place, Disneyland.

We went to the SanDiego zoo for the first time. Bradlee thought the baby hippo was so cute.

We also went to Universal Studios for the first timeas well. We thought it was pretty fun.

We went to Cabrillo National Monument, the beach, hung out in San Diego and ate the best sea food that we have ever had.

For halloween Bradlee was Buzz light year and we had fun attending the east village party.

When we got back from the trip, we celebrated Bradlee's birthday with my family.

With the money he got for his birthday, he bought a lego set and put the whole thing together by himself. He followed the instructions so well and I was so proud of how hard he worked on it.

My niece danced at the festival of trees on wednesday, so we went to watch her and to enjoy the festival. We had a lot of fun. This was our favorite tree. It was a mickey mouse themed tree.

And that is the last few months for us.

Bradlee and I went to the fair last week with some friends. We had so much fun. Bradlee has never been to the fair before and I think that we will now have to go every year.

I had my 26th birthday this year. (Did anyone else really dread turning 26?) My awesome friends from the playground threw me a little "party". It was so fun, but the best part was when we told the kids that the cake and icecream was only for the moms. I can still picture the screaming that ensued.

Yes, we did it again. We went to Disneyland! This time we took Grandma and Grandpa Johnson.

For the first time EVER, we got a family picture in front of the castle with absolutly no one else it the background. The only disappointing thing about the picture is that I only has my point and shoot, not my nice camera. Oh well.

Our apartment activity in December was hosting Santa for all the kids in the apartments. Because Santa was Josh's dad, I got to be his personal escort for the day. Bradlee thought it was pretty cool that his mom got asked to be Santa's elf. The best part was that he had no idea it was Grandpa in the suit.

Our ward party was at the beginning of the month and I got to serve on the committee to plan the party. Melissa Bennett and I made all of the decorations and it was the best party that I have ever been to. Here was the first visit with Santa for the season.

Bradlee was Woody this year. I packed our week so full of activities that I didn't get any other pictures than these. Bradlee was dressed up almost every day the week of halloween. I think he had a good time, though. I, however, am so glad that this holiday is over. Right now I am excited for snow and Christmas, but I am sure I will change my mind by the time December gets here.

This picture just about sums up our trip to Disneyland. We were exhausted! (but in a good way) It was so much fun to spend a week with the Bennett's at our favorite place to vacation. These pictures are not in order at all, but I am too lazy to do anything about it.

Meeting Buzz Lightyear was a highlight of our trip. Bradlee was extremely excited.

We stood in quite the line to meet the fairies at pixie hollow, but we are sure glad we did. Bradlee watched the new Tinker Bell movie right before our trip, so he was pretty excited to meet Silvermist, Vidia and Tinker Bell.

Bradlee really likes the ride Splash Mountain, as well as the story of Brier Bear and Brier Fox. Meeting them was very exciting as well.

Dale

Bradlee and Josh love to sit by the drop on the bear river run ride. You can get soaked by waiting there for the rafts to come down. Since Bradlee is still too short for that ride, this is how we compromise. This day at the park was about 90 degrees, so getting wet was well worth it. Even mom got pretty wet.

Bradlee loves Mulan more than any other character. He could watch the movies all day. I found out when Mulan would be there and we booked it over to her. Luckily, she did not have too many fans that day, so Bradlee got to have a good conversation with her. He even gave her two kisses on the cheek.

Birthday Weekend in Vegas

May 16th was my birthday and I turned 25. What's even better is that Jeff's birthday is the same day, but he turned 30. Those are some pretty big birthdays. This year, our wonderful spouses surprised us with a Las Vegas getaway. It totally caught me off guard, but it was the best weekend ever. They had a "pirate" theme and so Josh gave me a pirate hat and told me I had 25 minutes to get packed.

We got to experience many coke flavors from around the world at the Coke Factory. They were pretty good, except for one. These are our expressions after tasting the nasty one.

We went to the Tournament of Kings dinner and show. Melissa got us tickets in the Russia section. We had to eat the food with our hands (no silverware). We were each served a whole chicken (I think it was a cornish game hen) and boy was that fun to eat with my hands. We got to bang on the tables and eat while the horses flipped mud into our laps. What a great night.

Josh also made us reservations for couples massages. We had never done that before and it was amazing. I have the best husband ever and we have the best friends ever to be able to pull this off.

Lost Party

The Bennett's got us hooked on the show LOST. I started watching it from the beginning while the final season was going on. I pretty much watched 6 seasons in two months. For the final episode, we had an awesome party to celebrate. It was very much LOST themed. Melissa and I did a great job and we had a very fun time.

We had a great time in California over Josh's spring break. Bradlee LOVES Disneyland and couldn't wait to go again this year. He was tall enough to ride most of the rides this time around and he thought that was awesome. We were able to spend 6 days in Disneyland/California Adventure. Plenty of time to get all of the rides in.

Arizona

We were able to take a short trip to Arizona this month so that Josh could run in the PF Chang's half marathon. He did really well and we had a great trip.

Our trip consisted of:

1. The half marathon

2. Picking oranges in Great Grandpas backyard. Bradlee really liked this part. And they were so yummy.

3. Going Crazy in the car. We were in the car for at least six hours EVERY day of our trip. It got old fast, especially for our three year old.

Christmas

We had a really good Christmas this year. Bradlee finally understands about Santa and everything. He learned the song "Mary's Lullaby" in Primary and sang it the whole month. He still says that is his favorite song. This is the first year that he wanted to sit on Santa's lap and didn't scream the whole time. He also made a haul. We had to clean out his room to fit everything in.

We went sledding a few times just outside of our apartment building. The little hill is great for kids to go down. He loves to go sledding.

We also went to Temple Square. Bradlee wasn't very thrilled about it, but he loved to see the nativity and to talk about baby Jesus.

This year was definitely better than last year and we are looking forward to what 2010 brings us.

Christmas Party

Today a group of us ladies from the village got together and had a little Christmas party. It was SO much fun and I got to host it at my house. The kids drew names and got to spend $1.00 on the friend that they drew. It was great to see how excited they all were for their presents. I am so grateful for my friends. I don't know what I would do without them. I love you all! Thanks for a fun day.

The holidays are here and I am loving the snow. (Except for driving in it) We went to temple square with Josh's brother and had a good time, even though it was freezing out and very crowded.

Primary

Bradlee will be going in to Primary in January. I am a little nervous because I am in the presidency, but we have been bringing the kids in for singing time the last few weeks and he does very well. We are practicing a song to sing at the ward Christmas party and after two weeks, Bradlee knows all the words and can sing it too. It is so cute and makes me teary eyed every time.

Dentist

We were a little nervous when we went to the dentist because it was Bradlee's first time, but he surprised us! He loved it. The hygienist was awesome and the dentist was proud of all of us having no cavities. Bradlee got his teeth counted and polished, then he got a new Tigger toothbrush and a toy from the treasure chest. It was a great trip to the dentist.

I LOVE pickles. I drink the juice from the jar before I dive in. I knew that Bradlee loved eating pickles just about as much as I did, but today he saw me drinking the juice from the jar and decided that he wanted some too. That is awesome and I am so proud!

After Josh got his I pod touch, we decided to put Bradlee's music and movies on the Zune. Bradlee loves watching his movies on it and the other day he spent about an hour sitting in his chair, watching a movie on the zune.

Thanks to the miscarriage, I experienced another MS attack at the beginning of the month. Since it was messing with my vision, I got to have three days of I.V. steroids. This is not a good picture, but it shows the big, comfy chair that I relaxed in for an hour each day. Yay for modern medicine, because by day three, my vision was back to normal and I have so much more energy than I have had in a long time.

We had such a great night with our friends, the Bennetts, on Saturday night. We went to see Ice Age at the drive-in and Bradlee was in heaven with his girls. They are the cutest triplets in the world.
Bradlee thought it was fun to copy me by sticking his head out the window.
I love the pickles that they sell at the drive-in and Bradlee has decided that it is one of his favorite treats too.

Josh had this week off of work, so we did some fun things while we had him. We went to the zoo and Cherry Hill, had a BBQ with our friends, the Bennetts, and are going to the drive-in tonight. Josh and I ran the 1oK for the 24th. I definitely needed to train better, but things have been crazy lately. I had a miscarriage at the beggining of the month and this last part of the month I have been struggling with some eye problems from the MS. I am so glad that Josh was home this week to take care of me.

For the 4th of July we spent the weekend in Morgan Utah at Josh's brother house. We camped in their backyard and had a really fun time.

Just The Same Old Stuff

We have really not been up to much lately, but it has been awhile since I have posted. We go to the zoo and This is the Place often, thanks to our memberships. The other day Bradlee would not let me take pictures of him, so I bribed him with a cookie. I got some really cute shots of him on the couch. Later that day he told me, "take a picture of me so that I can have a cookie." I took him outside and got some even better pictures of him. Apparently the bribery works.

Josh was running the Ogden Marathon again this year, so we signed Bradlee up for the Kids K. He was very excited when we got there, but after waiting over two hours for his race to start, he wasn't so thrilled to run. I pretty much ran while dragging him behind me. Therefore, there will be no pictures of us running the race, because he was bawling in them all. This picture of him before the race is very cute though.

We went to Baby Animal Days at This is the Place over memorial weekend. It was really fun and Bradlee loved the baby goats. They had a ton of activities for the kids. Bradlee got to color a wooden snake, get an arrowhead necklace, find beads in the sand and then put them on string and he learned how to print on leather. The all time favorite for Bradlee is the little train. He would ride that thing all day if he could.

That is about all the fun we have been able to have. Josh is not taking any classes this semester, so we have been enjoying him being at home. I started taking Clomid for my infertility and I hope that it works because I don't want to have to take it another month. Not the funnest medication I have ever taken, but if it gives us a baby or two I will be happy.

For Easter we had fun dying our eggs and then rolling them down the cement hill. Bradlee also enjoyed finding all of the eggs hidden around the apartment.

On Saturday we did the MS walk in Salt Lake City. It was really fun and I had a really good team. After the walk the Turner family went to the zoo. Bradlee had a good time with all of his cousins.

Update time

I think that it is about time to update. I kindof just skipped right over spring break so we will start there. We decided to go back to Disneyland because Bradlee had such a fun time when we
went in December. He had a great time again!!

Bradlee loved meeting Captain Hook. Peter Pan is his favorite Disney movie right now.

Chip (or Dale) was very cute. He rubbed his head against Bradlee's face and it was so cute.

Bradlee really enjoyed the rides that let you "fly".

It's a small world was a big hit too. We went on the Materhorn three times, Peter pan two times, Small World two times and Toy Story two times. I think that about sums up the favorites for the trip. Josh and his dad waited over an hour and a half in line for Splash Mountain as well as an hour for Space Mountain. Bradlee's "treasures". He got some Mickey Mouse sunglasses but when they are opened I call them his Harry Potter glasses. Grandpa and Grandma Turner got him the Woody and Jessie dolls. I think they were his favorite new toys.

We went to Sea World too.

And the beach. It was chilly and foggy. The pictures didn't turn out great, but it was fun. Josh is mad that I did not get in the water, but considering that his feet were numb, I think I was smart. Bradlee really liked to play in the water with daddy.

Five Years

Today we celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary. I can't believe that it has been five years already. Time goes by so fast. We have been together through the good and the bad and will be together forever because of the choices we made to be able to be sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple. What a beautiful, rainy day it was five years ago. I love you Josh!!

A Boy and his Barn

This is Bradlee's new favorite toy. He bought it about two weeks ago and has taken it pretty much everywhere he has gone. He sleeps with it too. The little farmer toy that came in the barn has a mustache, so it's name is "Papa Darrell" because his grandpa Darrell has a mustache. It is so fun to see him play with this barn because it truly is a prized possesion for him.

Bradlee has decided that he wants to be a daredevil. He takes this really old bike, that has a bent wheel, to the top of the hill and rides down. We have to stand at the bottom to make sure that he doesn't fall over. He rode a different toy down yesterday and flew over the top of the toy. His face has a few scrapes from sliding across the grass. But that didn't stop him. He just got "his" bike and rode down again. I got my new camera yesterday and so Josh was having a fun time experimenting with it. He got some really good pictures and when I complimented him on what natural talent he has, he said "it is because this camera is so good." It IS a nice camera. And you can shoot in black and white so we were testing that out for some of the pictures.

Zoo

Bradlee and I went to the zoo today with my sister and her two kids. It was really fun and a nice outing. The boys had the most fun just being together and Tatum is old enough now to enjoy the animals. When we got back from the zoo I practiced taking a few pictures of cute Tati. (I hope this makes you happy Melissa. It sure makes me happy to look at). My goal this year is to become more knowledgable when it comes to taking pictures. I have taken classes before, but that was in highschool. I just need to refresh my memory and PRACTICE. Plus, my husband ordered me the new canon 50D camera. I am so excited to get it and get some good use out of it.

And for more good news. In two weeks, we are going to Disneyland, AGAIN. Bradlee is so excited to go back and whenever we leave the house he thinks that we are headed to Disneyland. I hope to take my new camera. AND I am going to get new glasses as well as some prescription sunglasses. I hope to have those by the time we head to California. It has been a good week thanks to taxes.

Since I am a slacker, I am going to update everyone on the past few weeks.

Bradlee thinks that he can go to the potty ALL by himself so the other day I went in to see why he was so quiet and I found him using the potty like daddy. I am still not sure how he didn't pee all over the seat.

Bradlee has become really attached to his Backyardigans hat. He wants to wear it the mintue he gets up in the morning. It is usually put on backwards but he loves it.

I have been going through some health issues lately and a lot of tests to figure out what is wrong with me. I got the pleasure of a spinal tap at the beggining of January, which knocked me down for a week or so. Not the most fun I've ever had. The neurologist had a hard time getting into my spine in just the right place, so I got pocked five or more times and I have the holes to prove it.

The good news is that they did figure out what is wrong with me. I have Multiple Sclerosis. At least all of the pain from the tests paid off. Now onto figuring out what treatment to go with.

And Bradlee FINALLY got a Mr. Potato Head. He wanted one so bad and we found a special valentines set at Walmart for $5.00 that we couldn't resisit. He did a great job at putting it together. Plus he is the cutest boy in the world.

And that was our amazing trip to Disneyland. I felt like a kid again and had a fun time seeing Bradlee having fun. Bradlee loved going on the Pirates of the Carribean ride as well as the Matterhorn (wierd that a two year old likes roller coasters).

For as much as I love taking pictures, I really didn't take that many. Hopefully Josh's dad will give me some that he took.

Bradlee loves the Backyardigans right now, and we wanted to get him a shirt with their picture on it for Christmas. We have had a hard time finding one, so I decided that I could make him one. We bought iron on paper and printed a pictureof the Backyardigans from the internet. It turned out so cute. We had extra paper, so Josh had this great idea of t-shirts to make for Bradlee and his girlfriend, Brighton. This is how they turned out.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

First of all, we had some friends over to watch the BYU vs. Utah game. Bradlee's girlfriend, Brighton, supported the U and of course Bradlee supported the Y. I think the kids saw past the differences better than the Daddies. It was a fun game and we enjoyed the company.
With Thanksgiving here, Josh let me put up the Christmas decorations. I usually try to put them up right after halloween, but with the move we just got them up. I love Christmas time. I can now listen to Christmas music and feel the spirit of the season. And the best news of all is that I am done with Christmas shopping (I actually made all of the presents this year). Yeah!

Bradlee's favorite thing to do right now is drink cocoa (toe-toe) with Daddy. They drink it every night, I think. If we don't remember to make it, Bradlee kindly reminds us. How can we deny the kid his most favorite thing? Plus when he says "me, toe-toe" it is too cute. But he does have to drink it in a sippy cup with enough milk to cool it down.

And I finnally made the cookies Bradlee has wanted for so long. He asked me all the time for them, but I just wasn't ready to make them. When we finally did, he helped out with the stirring and the frosting and of course the eating. They were yummy!

Another one

Two posts in one day can't be good, but here I am again. I have been trying to figure out if the brick walls that we are so lucky to have can be of any use. They are so hard to hang things on and don't look the best, but I was taking pictures today and found a new appreciation for them. When Bradlee sat by the wall (with the help of candy as a bribe), the pictures turned out pretty good (beside the fact that I have lost my touch at taking pictures) So here they are. Plus Bradlee is probably the cutest kid inthe world, so that helps.

The Move

We moved on a Monday. It rained all day and that was a bummer. We had to endure the rain as well as three flights of stairs. So moving turned out to be a drag, but NOW we are happy.

The apartment is two bedrooms. The only complaint is the size of the kitchen. Our stove is literally only 20 inches wide so most of our pans don't fit too well, but that's okay because now we have an excuse not to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving. Oh, and the fact that we have one kitchen sink. Not a double sink but ONE sink. Washing dishes is so hard and so I have to make sure to wash tiny batches all day long.

The joke is that our apartment looks like an IKEA ad. Now, if you haven't been to IKEA I highly recommend it, but be prepared to want ALL new furniture. My mother in law thinks it's funny to say that our next child will have IKEA for a middle name. That's how much I love IKEA. (maybe they will give me free furniture for naming my child after their store?) So, we have an IKEA couch, chair, microwave stand, bed frame, dresser, bathroom shelf, wall shelf, kitchen table and chairs,bookshelf, DVD holders, as well as many toys and kitchen accesories and other random items.

The living room

Bradlee loves our room. He even sleeps in our bed some mornings after he wakes up at 7 am.

Each bedroom has huge closets with built in shelves. I love the storage in this apartment. We also have a giant coat closet with built in shelves and a pantry type closet.

Bradlee hasn't quite gained an appreciation for his own room yet, but he does have his own now. We got him this seesaw thing from IKEA (ha) and he loves it.

New Home

Well, I have been thinking about blogging for awhile now and with the help of my sister, here I am. (Melissa, are you so proud?) I am so slow at, but I will keep working on it.

UPDATE! We just moved to the Universtiy of Utah apartments. It is so nice to have seperate rooms and a kitchen. It does feel like a mansion for now, but I'm sure it will get that cramped feel before too long. Nonetheless, we love it here. The first time we came up here on moving day, Bradlee saw the playground that is literaly right outside our door and yelled, "Yeah, play." It was so cute.

One more story; Bradlee loves my moms friend Diane (he calls her Die-nine). Yesterday we were having company over and I asked him if he knew who was coming. He yelled Diane and ran to the door to see (of course it wasn't her though). It was too cute.
